Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the effect of decentralization on corruption in Cameroon. From the logit method on panel, the econometric estimations are made on a sample of 233 municipalities out of the 360 in Cameroon. The results obtained indicate that decentralization has a negative effect on corruption in Cameroon. An increase in the level of decentralization by 1% could reduce the probability of corruption in these municipalities by 4.42%.
