Covid-19 Lockdown :Were Algerian Households Financially Prepared For An Income Loss?

Résumé
The paper aims to assess the financial preparedness of Algerian households who lost their income during COVID-19 lockdown. Data consisted of 3926 households surveyed across the 48 provinces of Algeria. Results have shown that 37.5% of households were caught completely off-guard, and were completely unprepared. 56.3% of households were lacking preparedness and would thus feel the financial stress with each additional day into the lockdown. Only 6.2% of households were fully prepared for an income loss and would be able to survive the lockdow
