Résumé

The study aims to analyze the impact of knowledge on export diversification, over two samples from rentier and non-rentier countries during the period 2008-2018, and by using the Generalized Method Moments of panel data. A significant effect was found for the variable of Training and Innovation in both samples. As for the variables of the quality of the education system and technology transfer through foreign direct investments, it was found that they had a significant effect in the rentier countries and had no significant effect in the non-rentier countries. The study concluded that knowledge has an effect on the exports diversification in non-rentier countries better than in rentier countries because it outperforms in terms of innovation.
