INTÉGRATION DES CHAÎNES DE VALEURS MONDIALES : QUELLES PERSPECTIVES POUR L’ALGÉRIE ?

Abstract

This contribution aims to explore the integration potential of the Algerian economy into global value chains (GVCs). It will focus on identifying the characteristic elements of this potential. The study reveals a delay in integration with GVCs compared to neighboring countries, which is due in particular to the structure of the productive fabric that is weak and poorly structured in relation to the organizational integration requirements, particularly in terms of intersectoral coordination. on the one hand, and low capacity utilization rates in the majority of sectors. Nevertheless, the country has a potential of resources allowing it to be near a place of diversification of its exports as long as the ingredients of a good governance of these CVM are present, notably in terms of coordination between the companies and their various partners .
