Abstract
The main objective of this paper is to identify the factors of efficiency of secondary schools in Cameroon. For this, the author uses the non-parametric approach to generate the levels of school effectiveness and develops a Tobit model to identify those factors effectively. The data are from the National Institute of Statistics of Cameroon. The results show that the average efficiency of secondary schools is estimated at 0.06 and high schools in rural areas are more efficient. Regarding the analysis of the effectiveness of education, the results show that private schools are more efficient Protestant end secular private schools, the most inefficient. Finally, estimation results show that the most efficient schools are those that are relatively better resourced. The confirm the importance of discipline in school and demonstrate the value of cooperation between schools and parents.
