ANALYSIS OF WILLINGNESS TO PAY OF ALGERIAN SUBSCRIBERS FOR IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF RESIDENTIAL WATER SERVICE

Abstract

The service of residential water in Algeria is affected by qualitative and quantitative problems. For that reason, we analyzed the willingness to pay of customers to get better service. Therefore, we used survey data and we estimated the determinants of the WTP and its value. According to the results of our models, management variables used by the company are the main variables determining the amount declared (eg : restrictions). The estimation of the willingness to pay of Algerian-households gives us a value of 10.57 DA/m3, equivalent of 231 DA per quarter.
