Abstract

In Algeria, women's entrepreneurship is low despite the proactive policy of the State to boost female employment, which happens to be the lowest in the Maghreb. Only 5% of entrepreneurs are women . In the province of Djelfa, where our research, this rate is only 0.6%. The investigation in this wilaya reveals that only 8% of the projects
granted by public support structures for entrepreneurship (ANSEJ, CNAC, ANDI) were to women. We have only the agency for micro credit (ANGEM) that women are the majority (76.7% of the projects funded by this institution). In addition to the weakness in the numbers, women are mainly directed towards traditionally female sectors prolonging a knowledge already gained in the domestic sphere. Finally, women entrepreneurs surveyed say they have difficulty marketing their production to obtain bank loans and finding locul professionals at an affordable price.
