Les effets de l'implantation de Danone sur la structure du marché algérien des yaourts : résultats d'une enquête par entretien auprès des dépositaires de PLF de l'Est algérien

Abstract
On October 21st 2001, a partnership agreement was signed between the Algerian group Batouche and Danone multinational firm. It gave birth to Danone Djurdjura Algeria, a subsidiary company whose capital is held 51% by the Danone Group. The new business operation led to a reconfiguration of the Algerian market for yoghurts. The considerable marketing efforts led to the enlargement of the demand for dairy products. New emerging producers, local businesses are strengthening their competitive positions; meanwhile others are making their conversion to a bearer market. Through interviews survey with dealers and retailers of four wilaya of eastern Algeria, this paper attempts to analyse this new configuration and the weight of Danone Djurdjura Algeria on the market. It sems likely that we are heading towards an oligopoly with localised fringes
