Détermination de l'adoption de l'irrigation localisée (goutte à ­goutte) par les agriculteurs : cas du périmètre Hamiz

Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyse the attitudes and behaviour of farmers in taking up new irrigation techniques. Thanks to the operation of  an  original  database  on  120  Algerian  farmers,  we  identify  the determinants  of  the  decision  to  adopt  a  system  of  water­saving irrigation. The likelihood of adoption of the drip was modelled by the development of a model Logit which helped to highlight the significant variables that influence the behavior of farmers about the decision to adopt, namely subsidies State, the cost of the investment, level of education and type of culture practised. Meanwhile, other constraints such as lack of hydraulic works are a limiting   factor for adoption unlike farm size and age of farmers.
