Abstract

This article attempts to verify the validity of the concept of territorial attractiveness of the country of Annaba, located at the North-Eastern of Algeria as the major industrial city. It is characterized by an old industrial process knowing at the same time deep changes due to the openness of its economy. The objective is to reveal the explanatory factors that are behind the economic boost of Annaba city. The analysis was based on a sample of 44 companies surveyed in relation to a set of 19 explanatory variables. Those variables have been grouped into three different determinants categories. The results were subsequently treated with principal component analysis (PCA), a method that could reveal the influence of certain dimensions deemed critical by traders and were the basis for their choice of location.
