Abstract

 The aim of this work is to repor t on the analysis the production and placing on broiler market i n Algeria through Medea province. As part of our investigation, we adopted the value chain approach. The techno-economic dimension and socio- institutional framework relating to the concept of Global Value Chain were used to study the empirical case. The results show that the conditions of production and distribution of broilers do not meet the recommended standards. Technical, economic and socio- institutional factors are partly responsible for the poor performance of farms and unstable prices of poultry products on the market. The inability of the players in the sector to organize slows down the development of the latter.
