Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of the Northern Border University (NBU) on the local development. The study used descriptive and analytical methodology and questionnaire as an instrument to measure the impact of the NBU on the development of the urban and commercial activities besides creating job
opportunities in the Northern Border's Region. The study used (Multiple Linear Regression), (Step Wise Multiple Regression), and (Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficient) for study analysis. The study concluded that the contribution of the university in the local development is remarkable. The main findings of the study indicated that the university contribution to the urban development was (10%) whereas the contribution to the workforce was (8%) and commercial activity was (4%).
